Letter from AASNS President
Dear Friends and Colleagues,
It is with great pleasure that I invite you to join us and participate in the 16th Asian Australasian Congress of Neurological Surgeons (AACNS) which will be held in Jerusalem, Israel on 6-8 September 2022. The AACNS is held once every 4 years (but soon to become biennial) and during this Congress, neurosurgeons from Asia and Australasia, together with colleagues from Europe, North and South America and Africa, meet to share and exchange ideas, research outcomes and innovations in the field of neurosurgery and its subspecialties.
The COVID-19 pandemic has caused great disruptions to so many scientific meetings in 2020 and 2021 and therefore the 16th Asian Australasian Congress of Neurological Surgery will be an oasis for learning and a great opportunity for once again meeting face to face and catching up with friends and colleagues whom we have missed due to the pandemic.
The Congress will be held this time in Jerusalem, Israel. The Israel Neurological Society has been a full standing member of the Asian Australian Society of Neurological Surgeons for over 10 years and Prof Iddo Paldor from Rambam Hospital, Haifa currently serves as the society Secretary-General.
Jerusalem is one of the greatest historical cities in the world and is where the antiquities of multiple cultures blend so well with the best features of modern life; the meeting point of East and West is the ideal place for us to learn, meet and catch up. Aside from the superb scientific program which our hosts, Professors Yigal Shoshan, Andrew Kaye and Shlomi Constantini have put up, Jerusalem is a culture vulture’s haven, offering something special for everyone, whether it is to enjoy the culture, art, gastronomy in Jerusalem and its surrounds or biblical tours.
I look forward to seeing you, your family and colleagues in Jerusalem in September 2022.
Dr Wan Tew Seow
President of AASNS
